Making the choices

If you ask me about the best teacher I ever had in my life, I might not be able to name one. If I have to, then my answer would simply be my life. Yes, I believe that life is the best teacher one can ever have. Life teaches you the lessons that you don’t get to learn inside the four walls of any classroom. It puts you in different circumstances so that you could learn through your own experiences. I have learned so much from my experiences, the good and bad, I have been through both.

I happened to have such learning experience wherein the choices I made were questioned by them. I now have learned that they are always going to question the choices you make. From what you eat to which job you apply for, from how you spend your leisure time to which city you decide to live in, they are going to question everything.

They are always ready to criticize every single thing you do with your life. It is not that they know you or understand what you are going through. I can understand when people who knows me well, criticize something I do because I know that their intentions are true and pure. But, it hurts very bad when your choices gets questioned by someone who hardly knows your battles.

You owe nothing to them. You are free to make the choices.

They will judge you. They will criticize you. They will discourage you from making the choices in your life. The best thing is when you ignore them and do whatever you want. You need not answer their questions about the choices you make and the decisions you take to be at peace in your life. It is their responsibility to understand what led you making those choices in your life. Such people do not deserve your attention as well as time. You can simply let them go out of your mind and move on.

This is a reminder for you that you owe nothing to them. Know that you are doing it right unless you are hurting others. The person responsible for the consequences of the choices you make is only you and you know that. You are free to make the choices to be happy, to be at peace, to survive and to live your life your way. You are the only one who understands what is good for you. Don’t ever feel guilty of the choices you make.

I know that the choices one make can be a reflection of anything, their fear, their need, their struggle, their acceptance, their helplessness, their courage or simply their willingness. I also know that everyone living out there has their own battles to fight. Everyone is trying hard to be in the race called life. Let’s not question their intentions by questioning the choices they make. Let’s not discourage them from doing something for the betterment of their life. Let’s try to know their perception, let’s try to know their views. Let’s try to understand their life.
