No one is exception when you talk about keeping expectations. Everyone out there in the world keep expectations. People keep expectations from other people, things, time, situation, destiny and from mighty God as well. However, we all know keeping expectations is going to hurt us at some stage for sure.
It is true that expectations do hurt when things go other way, against our expectations. But, there is something we don’t pay attention and that is keeping expectations from ourselves. When we keep expectations from external entity, we indirectly become dependent on it. We expect the other things/people to trigger an event so that we seek the benefits out from it. We wait that event to be triggered by them to happen something beautiful to us. While we forget that we cannot control things and/or people. So, what to do? Stop keeping expectations?
No, not at all! Think the other way instead. Keep expectations from yourself. Expect something amazing from yourself; expect yourself to trigger that event by yourself. Be responsible for what is happening to your life. Expect magic, expect wonders, expect miracles from yourself and when you do that make sure you live up to your expectations. In the end, you know you can’t stop yourself expecting then why not to redirect it and seek the benefits rather than getting hurt? Expecting isn’t a bad thing though.

very valuable wisdom here. Thank you for sharing,
My pleasure. 🙂
I feel expectation from oneself is not a bad idea at all; but from others, it doesn’t work much (not in the long term at least)!
